You’re here - and that means we’ve made you think.

You’re thinking about that panic ASOS order. You didn’t realise the plastic from washing your tee actually ends up in your tea. Ewwww. And now you’re here for the change.

We’ve got the info you need to get started.

What the F is fast fashion?

It’s about making clothes cheaply and quickly, so we can all get a taste of the latest catwalk or celeb trend. Problem is, thanks to us living our best lives on social, those trends are changing daily.

To keep up, fast fashion companies compromise on quality, environmental processes and labour conditions. And not just when needs must. They’ve made cutting corners their entire business model.

Why do I care?

1 Million items

find their way to UK landfill every week.

We buy 60%

more clothing than we did 5 years ago.

Fast fashion companies produce between 8-10% of global carbon emissions

Less than 1% of material is recycled

Washing synthetic materials is one of the biggest causes of micro-plastics in our oceans

How we can fix it?

How we can fix it?

Lots of naked folks isn’t the aim of the game here. Instead, we want to help you purchase the right things, in the right ways and show you that small changes can do a lot of damage to the fast-fashion industry.

1. Buy from better

Knowing where to shop more sustainably isn’t easy, but don’t worry, ‘cos others out there are doing the heavy lifting. If you want to buy better (and we don’t mean buying more expensive), check out online brand directory ‘Good on You’. They’ve ranked 1000s of brands (including your high-street staples) to let you know just how ethical, sustainable, and environmentally focussed they are.

2. Know what quality
looks like

Quality clothing doesn’t have to be expensive. Look for these things whenever you buy anything, from anywhere, to avoid falling into the fast-fashion net.

  • Spare buttons: these indicate your item can be repaired

  • Metal zippers: plastic ones are a sure fire sign you’re buying a fast fashion item

  • Lining: something your Grandmother would look for? It actually indicates quality

  • Matched up seams: these show that your item’s more likely to have been hand-stitched

3. Shop a little less

Sure, there’s Vinted and DePop, but over-consumption’s still the killer here. Because fast-fashion items don’t last as long, even your sell-ons will find their way to the landfill pile eventually. Sounds totally obvious, but if we all buy a little less the positive impact on the environment can be HUGE. Like really really HUGE
